Rare Ferrari makes €5.04m as big spenders turn out for Monaco auction

The hammer fell on €33.5million of rare and exotic machinery at RM’s Monaco sale last weekend – the top price achieved was €5.04m for a ’57 Ferrari 625 TRC Spider, one of two built.
“The Porsche 918 Spyder is on the road. Driving trials of the super sports car of the future have progressed a step further with completion of the initial prototypes,” the firm tells us today.

I’m at Goodwood’s hill-climb sitting in the Aventador. The cars in front of me yap and growl as if hounds waiting for the off. The orange paintwork is as bright as sunset. The seats too. Not even Dale Winton has hide this color. Edging forward as each car is released from the start line, we hear engines howling down the straight - full echoing battle-cry.
