With an increase in power up to 1,200 HP, the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse is basically the open version of Bugatti’s Veyron Super Sport.
The SS holds the current production car world speed record of 267.8mph, thanks to the increased power of its 16-cylinder engine. That’s down to four enlarged turbochargers and intercoolers, while the chassis has also been modified to support the power increase.
This new roadster version is the same car, roofless.
“The rapid success of the Super Sport convinced us to increase the performance of the Bugatti roadster. Once again our engineers worked hard to demonstrate that Bugatti is able to constantly redefine the boundaries of what is technically feasible,” reckons Bugatti President Wolfgang Dürheimer.
“We gave our all to transfer the achievements of the Super Sport over to the Grand Sport, thereby turning open-top driving itself into an extraordinary experience at high speed.”
Er, OK then. (Did somebody translate that from German using google?)
